Fabric for the boutique will be collected at the May meeting. Since we both will be away for the summer we will resume collection in September. As in the past we would appreciate your measuring the fabric. We will have a pink and green basket at the meeting to accept your wonderful donations.

SUNSHINE CLUB
|
Michelle is busy getting her lovely sunshine club up and running and has great plans in the works! This month she sent a card to Janell for completing her first 5k run. Congrats, Janell. Michelle also sent a card to Jacqui for the passing of her husband. Jacqui, our deepest condolences go out to you.

**NEW WEBSITE FEATURE**

There is now a separate tab for supply lists. Just look under the members tab. You will see "supply Lists" as a separate tab.

This month's fat quarter drawing is Run for the Roses/Horses and Roses and Green. Bring in a fat quarter, and if your ticket is drawn, you go home with a fat quarter bundle. See Diane Bishop at the back table to turn in your fat quarter(s). Fat Quarter drawing for June is Red White and Blue.

OPEN SEW DAY
Fabric Warehouse is hosting an open sew day on the 4th Friday of the month. Cost is $5 for the day.

CHARITY PINNING
|
Donna, at Carillon Lakes hosts a charity pinning on the First Friday of the Month. Contact Donna Bishop if you would like help pinning your charity quilt. After pinning, you can stay and work on your own project.

2026 Quilts by the Lake Quilt Show!
Thank you to those that have volunteered for the 2026 Quilt Show. We still have a few spots to fill. Please take a moment to look over the list and if you see an area you would like to volunteer in, please email ladiesofthelakesfl@gmail.com with the heading: QUILT SHOW or sign up at the guild meeting.

- Opportunity Quilt-this person would be responsible to the "keeping of the quilt". You would take it home after the guild meetings and bring it back and set it up.
- Racks/Poles setup/Takedown-this person would head up the setting up of the racks/poles and work with ROTC day of setup. There is already a team in place to assist, we just need a lead person,
- Hanging Quilts-This person heads up the hanging of the quilts the day of setup.
- Program ads-this person seeks out advertisers for the program and works with the Program person to get the necessary information in the program book.
- Baskets-this person will head up the collection and making of the baskets. Kathy Vousden is assisting.
- Boutique Furniture/Machines-this person would be in charge of this section of the boutique.

FALL RETREAT DATES
|
The dates for the 2025 fall Retreat at the Fabric Warehouse are: October 20-25. You can RSVP on the website. Cost is $10 per day payable to Fabric Warehouse. This is a day retreat. You set up and sew your own projects. You can keep your machine up all week. If you are only available for a partial week, still RSVP for the week and come when you can.

This Month's Class
Baby your Baby with Eric Drexler
|
This is Eric's featherweight maintenance class. This class is full at this time, but there is a waitlist. If you are would like to get on the waitlist, email ladiesofthelakesfl@gmail.com with the heading BABY YOUR BABY and let us know. For those signed up, the supply list is located under the "supply lists" tab in the members section of the website.

New Club! Modern Quilt Club
|
The first meeting of the Modern Quilt Club is set for 1:00, May 15th at First Presbyterian in our guild meeting room. If you did not sign up on our interest sheet, but would like to join us, please do. This will be an organizational meeting to decide the direction of the club, then after the meeting there will be free sewing on your own project, time permitting. Please note there will not be a dedicated iron or cutting surface. We will go until 3;30, then have a break to clean up and set up for the evening meeting and go for some dinner. Dinner is on your own, but we will have some suggestions close by.

With over 45 years in the sewing industry, Eric has developed a wide
spectrum of expertise. For
over 27 years he worked for Sulky of America while continuing to
indulge his passion for sewing machine repair in the evenings and
weekends. Eric is
passionate about inspiring students of all ages to discover a lifetime of
creative fun.

|
|
Kate has been a quilter since she was a teenager. She enjoys all aspects of the craft, and is always eager to try something new. She is an enthusiastic teacher, as well a pattern designer, long arm quilter, and judge. She, along with her husband, have served as hosts for all-inclusive quilt trips. You can often find her vending at quilt shows in the eastern US.

Annual Pot Luck Dinner and Game night
|
|
|
It's that time of year again. Time to share your favorite dish with your sewing friends. Donna and Diane have some fun things planned for this meeting. One of them will require three fat quarters with the theme, "Christmas in July". Bring three fat quarters to the meeting that are Christmas themed. Please bring a dish, along with your serving utensils that are labeled with your name.
