|
Thank you to the Sunshine Club members for greeting us with a smile and a welcome last month. We love it, and you! Keep up the good work. If you have something good (or not so good) happening in your life, please let us know. You can contact Michelle Pugh, or let us know at the back table. We want to celebrate/share in your life.

**WEBSITE NEWS**
|
Reminders went out to those that used the check/cash feature on the website for annual membership dues. Please do not get confused. Because this is a manual feature, it does not renew automatically. If you want to continue paying your annual membership dues via cash/check, that is perfectly fine. Please bring a check/cash to the meeting and you will be activated in the system manually.
|
|
Second Saturday in July is a Charity Quilt Sew along! This one is a jelly roll themed sew along. There are strip sets available, but if you have 2 1/2" strips you would like to donate, please bring them.
|
|
This month's fat quarter drawing is Red White and Blue. Bring in a fat quarter, and if your ticket is drawn, you go home with a fat quarter bundle. See Diane Bishop at the back table to turn in your fat quarter(s). Fat Quarter drawing for July is beach time/blues. Don't forget the July meeting you also need three fat quarters that are holiday themed for one of the games we are playing.

OPEN SEW DAY
|
Fabric Warehouse is hosting an open sew day on the 4th Friday of the month. Cost is $5 for the day.
|
CHARITY PINNING
|
Donna, at Carillon Lakes hosts a charity pinning on the First Friday of the Month. Contact Donna Bishop if you would like help pinning your charity quilt. After pinning, you can stay and work on your own project.

2026 Quilts by the Lake Quilt Show Info
We still have some volunteer opportunities available. Please check out the list if you are interested in chairing a position.
|
- Opportunity Quilt-this person would be responsible to the "keeping of the quilt". You would take it home after the guild meetings and bring it back and set it up.
- Racks/Poles setup/Takedown-this person would head up the setting up of the racks/poles and work with ROTC day of setup. There is already a team in place to assist, we just need a lead person.
- Program ads-this person seeks out advertisers for the program and works with the Program person to get the necessary information in the program book.
- Baskets-this person will head up the collection and making of the baskets. Kathy Vousden is assisting.
- Boutique Furniture/Machines-this person would be in charge of this section of the boutique.

Basket Donations!
Starting with the June meeting, there will be a basket at the back table to take your basket donations. You can also sign up to sponsor a basket!

2026 Quilt Show Forms, Guidelines and Categories are available both here, on the website and at the meetings. Now is the time to be planning on what quilts you would like to display and/or have judged.

This Month's Class
Quilt Finishing Class with Kate Mitchell
|
Come join Kate for a fun and informative finishing class. As time allows and class attendees desire, we will cover 1. A basic, better binding, 2. Flange Binding-Step up your basic binding, and finish by machine. 3. Piped Binding, 4. Prairie Points, plain and fancy - not your Nana's prairie points. 5. Face your quilts for a clean finish.

Modern Quilt Club
|
We had seven in attendance for our first meeting. We had a great start for our Modern Quilt Club. We have decided to work on a challenge project and possibly have them hung together at our Quilt Show in January. If you would like to join us, this group is open. We meet at 1:00 on guild day, June 19th in our guild meeting room and go until 3:30 ish. We take a break to reset the room for the evening meeting. Dinner is on your own, but we will have some suggestions close by.

Meet our Guest Speakers/Upcoming Guild Meetings

|
Kate has been a quilter since she was a teenager. She enjoys all aspects of the craft, and is always eager to try something new. She is an enthusiastic teacher, as well a pattern designer, long arm quilter, and judge. She, along with her husband, have served as hosts for all-inclusive quilt trips. You can often find her vending at quilt shows in the eastern US.

Annual Pot Luck Dinner and Game night
|
|
|
It's that time of year again. Time to share your favorite dish with your sewing friends. Donna and Diane have some fun things planned for this meeting. One of them will require three fat quarters with the theme, "Christmas in July". Bring three fat quarters to the meeting that are holiday themed. Please bring a dish, along with your serving utensils that are labeled with your name.

Bernina Ben will be joining us in August with tips and techniques on maintaining your sewing machine and the anatomy of needles. Ben will also be talking to us about trade in options.
