December 6, 2025-Deadline to get in your Quilt Show Quilt Registration Form. It is the same day as the December Christmas party. Forms can be turned in at the party. Important to note that this is just the forms that are due, not your quilts. If you are still working on the quilt and need a photo, you can use the photo of your pattern, or your quilt top.

SUNSHINE CLUB
Thank you to our sunshine club coordinator, Michelle Lay, and her members for their happy smiles and greeting at our meeting. Please don't forget that they have forms at the back table for communicating information to them about any news you would like celebrated and/or shared. This month the club sent out notes to Becky Garland to let her know we are thinking of her because of her recent hospital visit, Sharon Beckett, for her recent hospital visit (heart related), Vee Redden's family for her recent passing,and Betty Knosalla on her knee surgery recovery.

Louise's Charity Corner
Many thanks to Elaine Howell (former guild member) for her enormous gift of SEVENTEEN (17) completed charity quilts to our guild. The assorted sized quilts have already been distributed around town along with all of your contributions.
Thank you ladies and gentlemen for sharing your generosity and creativity. You’re the best!

QUILTING AT THE LIBRARY

Our guild is sponsoring a new quilters class at the library next year. This will be a seven week class on Monday afternoons from 3-5 starting February 9-March 23. Think of it as quilting 101. Kimberly is teaching the class but is looking for volunteers to assist in the class. If you are interested, there will be a sign up sheet at the back table.

This month's fat quarter drawing is Holiday colors. Bring in a fat quarter, and if your ticket is drawn, you go home with a fat quarter bundle. See Diane Bishop at the back table to turn in your fat quarter(s).

Hi everyone, I want to introduce myself, I'm Debbie Feaster, your new Second Saturday Class Coordinator. I'm excited about the new classes for the upcoming year. We already have a few on the schedule! I would love to hear your ideas of what classes you'd be most interested in. OPPORTUNITY TICKETS
Time is ticking down for you to pick up your Opportunity Quilt tickets from Marcie. They are $25 for 30 tickets and are located at the back table. We ask each member to sell $25 worth. You don't want to miss out on a chance to win this beautiful quilt, or give your friends and family the opportunity to take home "Orange you a Swan Lover".

2026 Quilt Show News!
|
We are still working hard to fill those volunteer spots. Please check out the volunteer sheets that will be circulated at the meeting to find your space to volunteer. It takes all of us to make this quilt show a success. If you have a question about any of the volunteer positions, please do not hesitate asking questions.

ADOPT A BASKET UPDATE
Our goal is 25 baskets and so far we have 15. Just 10 more to go. If you have not signed up and you want to participate, please just bring your items labeled with your name. If you have empty baskets you would like to donate, we would also gratefully receive them. Here are some of the themes we have so far: Tea Party, Chocolate and Wine, Spa Day, Sewing bag and fabric, Thread, Fat Quarter extravaganza, Harry Potter, Hand embroidery.

2026 Quilt Show Forms, Guidelines and Categories are available both here, on the website and at the meetings. Deadline to get your forms in is December 6. NEW! The fillable form is on the website and linked below. You can fill out your forms electronically and send them to Lydia! If you are filling out your forms for a judged quilt, please either mail your check for $10 per quilt or bring your cash/check to the meeting. Don't forget your photo attachment.

Spring Retreat 2026
Time is ticking and spots are few for you to get your deposit in for Spring Retreat 2026. Deposits are being taken online for $100, or bring a cash/check to the meeting. The theme for this year is America: Quilt Style. We will be celebrating quilts in America. Total cost for the retreat is $475 for double room and $635 for single room. Total will be due by February meeting. You can make your final payment by cash/check at the meetings. Please label your check "Spring Retreat", or put your cash in an ennvelope with your name on it and "Spring Retreat". Thanks.

Continuing a family legacy of quilting for over 25 years, Emma Jane has tried it all, and she loves every (almost) step of the quilting process. A career public school teacher for many years, she jumped ship after having a baby in her 40s during the pandemic, and now teaches quilting for guilds, shows, and local quilt stores. She studied Spanish in high school and college and has traveled to numerous Spanish speaking countries. Her love of travel has influenced her appreciation for craft art.

Annual Christmas Party at Mount Olive Shores North

I can't believe it's almost here! Christmas! We celebrate every year with a wonderful brunch and this year is no different. Tickets are now on sale on our website. Go to the events calendar to get yours. Cost is $35.00. Our annual yearly challenge is voted on at the party. The challenge is listed below, if you need a reminder. We will also be exchanging Christmas Ornaments this year. This is a voluntary exchange. If you would like to participate, bring a wrapped ornament to the party. There is no December guild Meeting.

Carolyn Bluhm of K9 Quilts will be with us at our January meeting to tell us about her organization, K9 Quilts of Honor. This very worthy organization recognizes dogs of service in Law Enforcement, Fire Search and Rescue and Military working K9 though the “K9 Quilts of Honor”. You will have a chance to participate in the organization by helping us make quilts on the Friday following the meeting. Also, look for Carolyn's table at our Quilt show. This is the organization that we are supporting with our Quilt Show cookie sales.

BOUTIQUE SIT AND SEW VOLUME TWO
|

Friday, November 21st at FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, from 10-4. We are sewing items for sale for our Quilt Show boutique. Please bring your machine and sewing notions that you can't sew without. We will be providing patterns and fabric. We have some new patterns and some favorites. Don't miss out. Sign up on the events calendar. There are only a few spots left.

Fall Day retreat at the Fabric Warehouse was a great success. We had a lot of participants and fun was had by all. Thank you, Suzi Olson for organizing this event.

A 2026 BLOCK OF THE MONTH IS HEADED YOUR WAY
|
Donna Bishop is heading up a block of the month program for 2026. The idea is to celebrate the nation's quincentennial. In the supply list section of the website, you will find a list of the block and there is also a sign up sheet at the back table if you are interested in participating. You can also click the button below for the BOM suggestions list. Donna will have accquilt dies available at meetings if you choose that option. Kimberly is working on some patterns for the image category if you choose to paint, applique, print or embroider and will have those available at the meetings.
