LOUISE'S CHARITY CORNER

There have been suggestions of donating some of our quilts to the fire department here in Lakeland. I have made several inquiries that I'd like to report to you. I visited a local fire station and they kindly declined, saying that sort of thing had to go through the main office. I contacted the main office and was told that their focus is on fire extinguish, and that families that need support are referred to the Red Cross. I contacted the local Red Cross chapter in Winter Haven and they declined also, referring me to online (which is monetary donations only) and main office. The main office declined also saying that storage of physical items is the issue. So, for now, the fire department and/or Red Cross are unable to accept our quilt donations. We have a number of organizations that do accept our lovely creations so your contribution is greatly appreciated.
