SUNSHINE CLUB

Thank you to our sunshine club coordinator, Michelle Lay, and her members for their happy smiles and greeting at our meeting. Please don't forget that they have forms at the back table for communicating information to them about any news you would like celebrated and/or shared. This month Michelle's team sent a get well card to Becky Garland.

CONGRATULATIONS!

Congrats to Kimberly Boothe for the acceptance of her quilt "The Secret Garden" into the Cherrywood Challenge, Storytime traveling exhibit for 2027.

QUILTING AT THE LIBRARY

Classes are continuing through March and the assistance from Sharon Monteith, Betty Knosalla and Lydia Morgan has been well appreciated. The ladies attending are quilting their quilts in the next couple of classes and we could not be more proud of their progress.

FROM SUZANNE SHERMAN:
Kudos to Louise for her fine display at our quilt show! While I was "white gloving", a woman asked me about the quilts on the stage. I told her the group was required to make donations for our tax exempt status. The lady was impressed by the number of lovely quilts as well as the number of organizations to which they were given. I, too, was impressed. I know Louise works hard, but I didn't realize how hard. Good for you, Louise! You go, Girl!

Andy is teaching her 3 in 1 bag at the Fabric Warehouse in April.

This is one of my favorite patterns. I call it my "3 in 1 Bag" because it has 3 different ways to wear it. The basic bag can be any color and can be worn without the cover. The cover is reversible so it provides two more opportunities. You can have fun with the fabrics you choose for the cover using a variety of themes. I have divided this class into two sessions. Session 1 is April 15 and will focus on reversible cover and session 2 is April 29 and will focus on the main bag. Both sessions will be 10-1 or longer if needed. If you want to attend, please call and sign up with the Fabric Warehouse.
FAT QUARTER DRAWING
New year for Fat Quarters! This month's fat quarter drawing is Pots of gold/gold in the fabric. Bring in a fat quarter, and if your ticket is drawn, you go home with a fat quarter bundle. See Diane Bishop at the back table to turn in your fat quarter(s). Next month's fat quarter is: Blenders.

Second Saturday Class News!

Hello everyone!
Our next Second Saturday Class is on April 11th, with the very talented Jacqui Anderson.
Jacqui is teaching a tote bag and the information is in the supply list section of the website as well as linked below. Please sign up to attend by going to the events section of the website, click on the event, select the number of tickets you would like, and fill out the information when prompted. It's that easy! Remember, the class itself is a free perk for being a member, and the cost of the venue is just $10 (cash) going directly to Fabric Warehouse. If you would like to invite a friend to come with you, we would love to meet them, the cost for a non member to attend is just $10 (in addition to the $10 venue fee).

Louise's Charity Corner

Thank you all for your continued donations of charity quilts. Our community is grateful for your generosity. Some of your beautiful donated quilts will be on display at the Sewing Expo as an example of what we do and who we are as a guild.

Red Carpet Event
March Meeting

This is an event that you will not want to miss. Our amazing Program Directors have a very special night planned for us. Please plan to attend.
Candyce Grisham
April Meeting
I have taught quilting for more than twenty years and love and teaching and exploring with students as much as the creating. I have been lucky to have quilts and fiber art pieces juried into shows with Missouri Fiber Artists, the American Quilter’s Society in Kentucky and the International Quilt Association in Houston as well as many local and regional shows and displays.
Lauren Jackson from Bold Notions Quilting
May Meeting
Lauren Jackson is the owner of Bold Notion Quilting in Brooksville, Florida, a renowned "Longarmer's Dream" shop and APQS dealership offering specialized longarm sales, services, and education. As an expert free-motion quilter, certified APQS technician, and instructor , she focuses on empowering quilters through in-person classes and online education.
APRIL CLASS
Create your own unique small wall hanging using the book Dresden Quilt Blocks Reimagined. In this class we will cover the basic reimagined Dresden blocks and then explore some of the “Dresden 201” blocks that allow for more creative piecing. You may choose which approach works best for you. You can begin with a background (suggested size: approximately 40 x 40, pieced, or solid), or you may prefer to wait until your blocks are completed before making background decisions. Both approaches are welcome. This class is designed to be tons of creative fun and is suitable for everyone from confident beginners and up. Bring your willingness to experiment and step a little outside the box. You will have ample time to sew, explore techniques, and view instructional videos during class.

Sewing Expo

Our guild booth number is 1225. Come by and check us out. This year, we are giving an opportunity to take home a basket of "tea and cake". If you have signed up to volunteer either at our booth or with the Expo, THANK YOU! You make our booth possible.
2026 GUILD CHALLENGE
Remember that our guild challenge is due in July. The challenge: make something patriotic, any size, and we will vote on it at the July meeting.
