AUGUST 10TH, FABRIC WAREHOUSE! 9-4 CHARITY QUILT SEWALONG

For our August second Saturday meeting, Fabric Warehouse is hosting us for a Charity Quilt Sewalong. Time to go through your stash and make use of that fabric you are not going to use. The Accuquilt cutting machine and 8" die and block will be available for use. There will be some cut squares available to sew. Please join us to sew some quilts for our community. time will be 9-4. Bring your lunch. PLEASE RSVP ON THE EVENTS CALENDAR ON THE WEBSITE

We have received a lovey letter from Quilts of Valor:
|
Dear Laura and Ladies of the Lake Quilters,
Thank you for your 85 blocks donation to Quilts of Valor 2024 Block Drive.
Please know we accept all donated blocks, this year, last year, and years before. Those that don’t measure 12 1/2” are sorted by size and collected until we have enough of a measured size for a top then they are sewn together to make a quilt for a veteran. On point, the 4 Split Back Stars included in your donation were the right amount to complete a pile waiting to become a quilt for a veteran.
Keep up the good work, ladies, we very much appreciate your efforts to help us cover our veterans with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor.

Meet our Guest Speakers/Upcoming Guild Meetings

Aurora Lowell Charter
|
Aurora is our guest speaker for June. Her quilts have won her ribbons in many quilt competitions including Paducah, KY. Her techniques are outstanding and innovative. The quilts have been featured in quilt magazines and she is the designer and inventor or the game Quiltopoly, a take on the game Monopoly.

Pot Luck/Game Night
July Meeting

Back by popular Demand! We had such a good time last summer with the pot luck, we have decided to make it an annual event. This year we will be playing Quilto for Fat Quarters. A Quilto card costs 1 fat quarter each. Bring your buttons to fill up your card. You can play up to 5 Cards. Sign up on the Events calendar if you can attend and sign up for what you are bringing at the meeting.

Brenda Buddenhaggen, an Orlando, Florida resident, and an experienced quilter, will be our guest speaker for August. Brenda has been a fabric rep for Blank Textiles since 2005 and will share the new and latest trends in fabric you will be seeing in your favorite quilt shops. She travels the state of Florida and the US visiting quilt shops, quilting with friends at retreats, and sharing her ideas. Bring your questions about fabrics and she will be more than happy to answer them
