Featherweight Circle News

Our June meeting was fabulous! We enjoyed making the dresden plate mat and you will see some of them at show and tell. Next month (July), FIELD TRIP! We are meeting at Inspire at 10:30 for a girls shopping trip and lunch afterwards.

SPRING RETREAT 2027 DAYSPRING
|
The dates for the 2027 Spring Retreat are; May 3-7, 2027. We already have some fun ideas in the works for next year. NOW is the time to get your deposit in to save your spot. The deposit is $100 and is up on the events calendar. You can also bring a check to the meeting. Please label it with Spring Retreat 2027.

FALL DAY RETREAT 2026
Yes, you read that right! Fabric Warehouse is hosting us for a fall retreat, but not like the day retreats we have had here in the past. This retreat will be structured more like an overnight, but you get to go home and sleep in your own bed. More details to come, but you won't want to miss this. Space is limited to the first 15 people that sign up and pay on the website/bring a check to the meeting. Light breakfast and lunch will be provided. Your payment secures your spot for the week. You only have to set up your space one time, your machine will be secure overnight. Games, prizes, demos, and fun will be on the agenda!

Cost: $80-sign up on the website or bring a check to the meeting labeled FALL retreat. The cost secures your space for the entire week! Yay!

New year for Fat Quarters! This month's fat quarter drawing is Potpourri-Anything goes. Bring in a fat quarter, and if your ticket is drawn, you go home with a fat quarter bundle. See Diane Bishop at the back table to turn in your fat quarter(s). Next month's fat quarter is: POLKA DOTS

Second Saturday Class News!
Next Second Saturday class in July is with Christine Bunt She will be teaching a free motion embroidery technique. If you have seen her work at show and tell, you know how amazing her work is. There is a kit she is providing that cost $7.00. This cost is above the $10 cost that goes directly to Fabric Warehouse. There is one spot left. The supply list is on the website under supply list. Also, click the button below for the supply list.

Treva's wallet class has been rescheduled to August 8th. Her class has 6 spots left. If you want to sign up, don't delay, it will fill up.

Thank you so much for the beautiful flower arrangement I received this week in honor of my retirement. The flowers are absolutely beautiful, but the thoughtfulness behind them means even more to me.

It has been a pleasure working with you over the years, and I am truly grateful for the relationships we’ve built along the way. I will miss being your contact person, as well as working with so many of our rental event clients.

I am pleased to let you know that we have an excellent replacement for my position. Going forward, your contact will be Tami Trent, who I know will serve you well.
|
Thank you again for your kindness, support, and friendship throughout the years. I will cherish the memories and wish you all the very best. Take care.

The Lakeland Senior Center Hub has walls! It is ADA compliant, no steps, one floor. It will have 8 rooms for various activities. Common room, craft room, game room, meeting rooms and a library. It is located off of Harden and Beacon Avenue. They are having a fundraiser here at First Presbyterian Church from 11:30-1:00 on September 16th. We will be hearing from the Executive Director, Ann Marie Russell soon at a future meeting.

PLEASE HOLD YOUR FREE STUFF FOR THE SEPTEMBER MEETING. THERE WILL BE NO FREE TABLE UNTIL AFTER SEPTEMBER. Remember, start putting those items in a special place in your sewing room for the next couple of months. Donna and Diane have really fun plans for the September meeting. More information will be given to you at the meeting.

Our class with Mary Jo with be a fun departure from the typical classes we provide. Mary Jo is bringing all of the supplies you will need with the exception of your sewing machine/sewing notions. Here is a sneak peak of some of the projects you will be doing.
