Our Second Saturday Charity Quilt Sew along for July was a wonderful success! Donna did an amazing job putting everything together and making it sew fun! Thank you to everyone that attended and donated your time and talent.
|

This month's fat quarter drawing is Beach time/blues. Bring in a fat quarter, and if your ticket is drawn, you go home with a fat quarter bundle. See Diane Bishop at the back table to turn in your fat quarter(s). Fat Quarter drawing for August is Bees/sunflowers/yellows. Don't forget this month's meeting you also need three fat quarters that are holiday themed for one of the games we are playing.

Fabric Warehouse is hosting an open sew day on the 4th Friday of the month. Cost is $5 for the day.

CHARITY PINNING
|
Donna, at Carillon Lakes hosts a charity pinning on the First Friday of the Month. Contact Donna Bishop if you would like help pinning your charity quilt. After pinning, you can stay and work on your own project.

Basket Donations!
Don't forget to bring your basket Donations for the Quilt Show to the meeting. There is a basket for collection on the back table. You can also sign up to sponsor a basket!

2026 Quilt Show Forms, Guidelines and Categories are available both here, on the website and at the meetings. Now is the time to be planning on what quilts you would like to display and/or have judged.

Charity News from Louise
|
Two additional groups here in Lakeland have requested some of our beautiful quilts so if you could help out, that would be great. A Woman's Choice would like to have on hand a newborn quilt to give to the woman who chooses to keep and carry her pregnancy to term. No specific color or size; just a warm welcome to this world. Anchor House provides housing, support, counseling, life skills training, and hands on experiences for youth ages 12 through 17. Many of these children have experienced abuse, neglect, or abandonment. Our quilts will hopefully provide some comfort for them. The boys are located in a facility in Auburndale, and a new facility just opened in Bartow for girls. It seems we regularly have a shortage of boy or male themed quilts so please keep that in mind as you make charity quilts. No specified sizes. Thanks for all your hard work and wonderful donations. Annual Pot Luck Dinner and Game night
|
|
|
It's that time of year again. Time to share your favorite dish with your sewing friends. Donna and Diane have some fun things planned for this meeting. Bring three fat quarters to the meeting that are holiday themed. Please bring a dish, along with your serving utensils that are labeled with your name. Don't forget to bring your own drink.

|
|
Bernina Ben will be joining us in August with tips and techniques on maintaining your sewing machine and the anatomy of needles. Ben will also be talking to us about trade in options.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Michelle is one of our own and among her many talents, she is a very accomplished yoga instructor. You may remember that she gave us a wonderful presentation some time back on some exercises for quilters. It was so well received, that she has been asked to come back and repeat her presentation. You are all getting to know her through her Sunshine Club and I know you are going to appreciate what she has to share with us.

Jacqui Anderson is teaching a table runner class at the Fabric Warehouse on July 26th from 10-3. Class fee is $30.
