JULY MEETING IS OUR ANNUAL POT LUCK GAME NIGHT
|
Please join us for a night of fun, food and fellowship. Bring a dish to share, a utensil to serve it with, a drink with a lid, and buttons for bingo. Prizes for the bingo/games winners. All are welcome. Don't worry if you did not sign up, just come and bring a dish, we would love to have you!

THE PRESIDENT'S CHALLENGE IS DUE AT THE JULY MEETING!!

Bring your challenge in an unmarked bag with your name pinned to it. If it is a quilt with a label, mask the label. Pinned names will be removed and a number assigned for the voting. PRIZES FOR THE WINNERS!

Featherweight Circle News
|
For our July meeting we were on the road to Inspire and then lunch. A good time was had by all. If you are interested in joining us next month, we will be back at the Fabric Warehouse. Cost of the circle is $5.00 going to the Fabric Warehouse for the use of the space. August is an on your own project. We will be discussing the September project at the next meeting.

SPRING RETREAT 2027 DAYSPRING
|
The dates for the 2027 Spring Retreat are; May 3-7, 2027. We already have some fun ideas in the works for next year. NOW is the time to get your deposit in to save your spot. The deposit is $100 and is up on the events calendar. You can also bring a check to the meeting. Please label it with Spring Retreat 2027.

FALL DAY RETREAT 2026
|
Our Fall Day Retreat is full, but we are taking names for a waitlist.

Cost: $80-sign up on the website or bring a check to the meeting labeled FALL retreat. The cost secures your space for the entire week! Yay!

New year for Fat Quarters! This month's fat quarter drawing is POLKA DOTS. Bring in a fat quarter, and if your ticket is drawn, you go home with a fat quarter bundle. See Diane Bishop at the back table to turn in your fat quarter(s). Next month's fat quarter is: Juicy Fruit

Second Saturday Class News!
|
Our Second Saturday class with Christine Bunt was a huge success! Everyone enjoyed learning something new. Next month is the makeup class with Treva to make the Mini Diva wallet. There are three spots left for this class, so don't wait to sign up. Supply list is below.

Louise's Charity Corner
|
From A Woman's choice: "We are in need of handmade baby blankets (car seat or stroller size blankets). We prefer neutral colors. We give them to moms and families during their ultrasound appointments at our main clinic and Mobile Clinic. I know that Ladies of the Lakes quilters donated blankets before to our ministry. We love them and our families love them, too. Thank you for your time and support for this ministry.

PLEASE HOLD YOUR FREE STUFF FOR THE SEPTEMBER MEETING. THERE WILL BE NO FREE TABLE UNTIL AFTER SEPTEMBER. Remember, start putting those items in a special place in your sewing room for the next couple of months. Donna and Diane have really fun plans for the September meeting.

Featherweight Retreat at Kooza Mountain Lodge

This retreat is full at this time. There is a wait list. You must have a featherweight sewing machine and be a member of Ladies of the Lakes to participate.

|
|
You won't want to miss this fun night of social time, good food and games. Prizes for the winners plus our Guild challenge is due. Please sign up online and bring a dish to pass. Don't forget your serving utensil. GUILD CHALLENGE DUE! Prizes will be awarded for the top three member voted challenge pieces. The challenge is simple: Anything patriotic.

Upcoming August class with Mary Jo Markle
|
Our class with Mary Jo with be a fun departure from the typical classes we provide. Mary Jo is bringing all of the supplies you will need with the exception of your sewing machine/sewing notions. Here is a sneak peak of some of the projects you will be doing. There is room in the class for you! Sign up on the website soon. Everything is provided for this class.

September Meeting
BiAnnual Fall Clearance and Games!
The star of the meeting is the Fall Clearance Auction with your favorite
auctioneers – Donna and Diane. Pick up your bright orange auction bags at the tables at the back before September so that you can clean up your sewing room (not the dust!). Put items in the bags that you no longer need or maybe a project you have lost interest in or fabric yardage (no bags of teeny scraps please), patterns, sewing related chotchkes. Bless the next person who will receive that bag with items that you think would be fun....for someone else!
There will ALSO be basket raffles and a silent auction (if anyone has a larger item they would like to sell to the guild).
Prizes:
1. Auction of Orange bags: you will be bidding on orange bags! Bring your
dollars to win an orange bag (hints will be given as to some of the items).
2. Basket raffles: IF you participated by filling an orange bag, you will get tickets to participate in the raffles (you will receive tickets at the door.) If you did not fill an orange bag, you may still purchase basket raffle tickets.
3. Silent auction - sheets will be available for items such as sewing machines, tables, large yardages of fabrics with a beginning bid. A picture or the actual item may be on display. If you are the highest bid, YOU WIN!
4. GRAND PRIZE – for those who brought their orange bags, all monies will go into one pot, a ticket will be drawn, and YOU could be the winner of the pot!
Bring your orange bags to September’s meeting. Bring cash. LOTS of ways to participate! Lots of ways to win!
